I AM DAVID SPARKLE
Apocalypse of Your Heart

Independent, CD-R
"Happiness is temporary. Doom is forever." Monolithic post-rock soundscapes from Singapore.
IRONWOOD
:Fire:Water:Ash:

No Label, CD
Debut full-length from this Sydney-based progressive/folk metal quartet. On :Fire:Water:Ash:, Ironwood pay tribute to the great spirit of nature (that which sustains us all) with nine of epic hymns that sway from gentle acoustics to raging blackened metal. Packaged in a sumptuous four-panel gatefold with a full-colour booklet.
ADRIAN KLUMPES / MACHINEFABRIEK
Passeridae II
sound&fury, 7"
The second volume in our very own Passeridae series breaks from the split format to present two intercontinental collaborations from Sydney's Adrian Klumpes (3ofmillions, ex-Triosk) and Rutger Zuydervelt, aka Machinefabriek. Side A features a spooky track called 'In Stillness His Shadow moved', which is an improvisation recorded by Klumpes one afternoon which was then edited and overdubbed by Zuyderveldt at his home in The Netherlands, while on Side B Klumpes reworks the title track from Zuyderveldt's album Dauw to come up with 'Second Dew'. Packaged in hand-screened art and limited to 200 copies. Also available (on coloured vinyl) as part of the Passeridae Subscription Series.
LAKES
Cloven
RIP Society, CD
When Sean Bailey, aka Lakes, originally released a vinyl edition of Cloven on his own Inverted Crux label late last year, it sold out almost immediately. Luckily, then, RIP Society (a brand-spanking new label started up by Nic from Onani, Bed Wettin' Bad Boys, &c.) has seen fit to reissue it in a digital format. This is what Foxy Digitalis had to say about the record when it first came out: "Cloven carries a heavy atmosphere of menace and a primitivist approach to both composition and technique."
LONG LEGGED WOMAN
Something is Pressing Against It From the Inside

Thor's Rubber Hammer, 7"
Something is Pressing... marks the official introduction of the four-man Long Legged Woman. A lot has changed in just two years with the band recording everything from swampy blooze-rock and tape collage-noise to ghostly psych-folk. And now the band has moved from its home in Athens, Georgia to San Francisco. The A-side is almost like something out of the early SST Records catalog, a mid-tempo trash-punk anthem with a busted-teeth smile. The dirge on the B-side is - for all intents and purposes - the prettiest song Long Legged Woman’s ever written.
THE LOST DOMAIN
Palace

PseudoArcana, CD
Totally killer CD on Antony Milton's PseudoArcana from Brisbane folk/blues ensemble.
FELICITY MANGAN
Lumetorm

sound&fury, 3" CD-R
Fragile compositions gently crafted from a wide array of sources, including guitar, wind chimes, paper bags and field recordings captured during the bitterly cold Estonian winter.
CRAIG MCELHINNEY
You and Me Are Young and Brutal

Meupe, CD
Recorded live in the studio by Georgia Martin in January 2009, You and Me Are Young and Brutal is the amazing debut album from Perth guitarist Craig McElhinney. Glacial drone loops meet meandering doom improvisations as McElhinney performs the sound of bringing the mountains to the sea. See you in Mesopotamia, Tennis Prince.
MEIN KINDER
The Bloodshed Will Redeem Us All

Haunted Tapes, CD-R
Found a box of old Haunted Tape stuff lying around... Not sure what the story is with this one. A single 16-minute track of evil, blackened noise.
DAVE MILLER
Regional Raccolta Remakes

Meupe, 3" CD-R
A suite of remixes of tracks from Miller's Mitchells Raccolta album, done by the likes of Pablo Dali, Victor Bermon and Chris Cobilis.
MIRRORED SILVER SEA
Continual Ascension

sound&fury, CD-R
Continual Ascension is the debut album from Mirrored Silver Sea, the sort of solo project from Melbourne musician Tim Condon. Sort of, because on this record he's helped out on a bunch of tracks by Aaron Unkovich, while Caz Gannell (of Laura) adds cello to the title track. This album is an almost-perfect combination of many of our favourite things: there's dense, highly structured noise, shards of post-classical, shoegazey ambience... in it, we can hear echoes of everyone from Nine Inch Nails and Liars to Svarte Greiner and Burning Star Core. Limited to just 75 hand-numbered copies and packaged in the usual S&F way.
MOONMILK / MY CAT IS AN ALIEN
Passeridae I

sound&fury, 7"
Here it is: the first in the Passeridae series of split 7"s. What better way to start than with two of the world's best drone duos? Moonmilk are Sydney kids Kell and Lia, and here they sink deep down into the earth with 'My Mother in Colours'. Flip the record over, and you'll find Italian space brothers My Cat is an Alien plaintively orbiting a dying sun with 'Diatomic Molecules'. Limited to 200 copies (not including the 100 copies on pale blue vinyl, available by subscription only) in hand-screened Arigato Paks.
MORNING STALKER
Styrtaciflua

sound&fury, CD-R
Known to many for his role as part of Sydney avant-pop ensemble Underlapper, Morgan McKellar has also been quietly working on solo material under the Morning Stalker moniker for quite some time. Naturalistic drones bathed in the gentle light of an autumn afernoon.
MUDBOY
Mudmux Volume 1

DNT, 7"
This is the first installment in an ongoing resurrection/remix project from Providence provocateur Mudboy. Side A unearths a track from Extreme Animals, which Mudboy reworks into a tribute to the horror film scores of John Carpenter. Side B uses a song originally by DarkDarkDark as the jumping-off point for a slow descent into organ-grinding madness. Packaged in hallucinogenic silkscreened sleeves and limited to 535, this comes highly recommended from us here at S&F HQ.
